Your clients might ask questions...
Q. "Is Oilheat efficient?" A. The Oilheat industry is always hard at work to create the most technologically improved heating equipment. Modern Oilheating systems actually burn less fuel (saving homeowners money) while still supplying the same amount of satisfying warmth. With high-efficiency equipment, it only takes 833 gallons to heat an average home, whereas in 1973 it took 1,294 gallons! Q. "Is Oilheat convenient?" A. When heating a home with Oilheat, homeowners have control over their warmth. Heating oil is stored safely and conveniently in a corrosion-resistant aboveground or underground storage tank on their property. Homeowners do not have to worry about disruptions in their fuel supply - especially if they sign up for automatic delivery from their supplier. The supplier can track each home's usage and schedule deliveries when the tank is low. Q. "Does Oilheat offer options?" A. Oilheat is about choice. Oilheat dealers offer customers a variety of valuable services including automatic delivery ... comprehensive service agreements for heating system protection ... convenient budget plans ... oil tank protection ... the latest in efficient heating equipment ... and heating system maintenance, repair, and installation. Customers can rest assured that their Oilheat provider has every area of their comfort covered. Q. "I always seem to pay 75% of my heating bills during December, January and February. Is there a way to keep my payments more stable?" A. When you sign up for your local FMANJ heating oil dealer's budget plan, you can gain more control over your budget and say goodbye to unexpected, high energy bills. A budget plan takes your yearly fuel costs and divides them into equal monthly payments. So, no matter what happens to the weather or to energy prices, you'll have the peace of mind and convenience of knowing exactly what your Oilheat payments are each month during the heating season. At the end of season, your account is reconciled to reflect actual usage and price. Q. "What are price protection programs? Should I enroll?" A. Price protection programs are programs that will establish the price you will pay all winter long, regardless of what happens in the market. However, price protection programs are not designed to guarantee you the lowest price (although they might). There are two types of price protection programs - a fixed price program where you pay that price for the entire winter or a "cap" program where you pay either your cap price or the lower market price at the time of your delivery. Most cap price programs require an enrollment fee. Q. "My system is about twenty years old and it's still working pretty well. Why should I consider an upgrade?" A. Studies show older Oilheat equipment is not as efficient as more modern units. Replacing an old inefficient system with a modern Oilheat system can reduce heating bills by approximately 40%. At a minimum, the conventional burner could be replaced with a new flame retention head burner, saving you as much as 15% on annual fuel bills. Locate a local FMA member and make an appointment to have your system evaluated. After thoroughly inspecting the equipment, the service technician may suggest an upgrade. A new system will reduce maintenance and repair costs, lower your heating bills, and provide greater peace of mind. A new, compact, high-efficiency Oilheat system will also pay for itself over a short period of time. Q. "Does my homeowners insurance cover claims in the event my tank leaks?" A. It depends on your policy. Check with your insurance company or agent to ascertain whether or not you have coverage for "third party", i.e. off site impacts. You may also want to consider purchasing a Tank Protection Program from your Oilheat dealer which will provide in most cases up to $100,000 "first party," i.e. own property, protection. |
